RIP - Twas one of the best pubs in the area for decades with a wonderful history, then taken over by some idiots, who then slowly tortured it, until every ounce of what made it great had gone away. One or two old faces remain behind the bar but all that remains is a diseased carcass. It used to have events on every night with a huge trendy following, now 9/10 chavs would drink here. Also, they seem to bring in guest ales quite regularly but dont know how to look after them. Most of the time it's so bad i would rather pour the pint over my chips because of the overpowering smell of vinegar (off ale). I would shun this place until they pull their collective fingers out. The pub has really fithy smelling gents loo and very menacing looking bouncers on the doors @ the weekend.
Update !!
Has changed hands a few times since I reviewed this place. Much improved but could be better, ales at least are drinkable now. The loos urinal no longer sears your eyes and makes you wretch from toxic vapours. Vibe has changed for the better, quite trendy sometimes even. Shall re-review this pub again
